Everyone has a responsibility for their own safety. Take some simple steps to preparing you and your family before a storm or emergency.
 
What you can do.
 
Get a weather radio and listen for broadcasts regarding severe weather, ensure you have a sufficient supply of medication for a couple of days in case you are cut off, keep enough water and food supplies for you and your family for a couple of days in you are cut off, don’t travel when advised not to do so by the weather service or local emergency services, have a designated shelter in your house or area and practice using it, seek further advice from you local emergency management office, FEMA and others such as the Red Cross.
