Measles Outbreak

Early in March, the Center for Disease Control issued a report about an outbreak of Measles in Kentucky. Measles, while highly contagious, is part of a regular childhood vaccination routine. 

Symptoms of Measles includes: 
    -fever
    -cough
    -runny nose
    -a rash that usually appears on the face and spreads downward

With declines in measles vaccination rates globally during the COVID-19 pandemic, measles outbreaks are occurring all over the world. The best way to protect your children is through vaccination. If you are unsure if your child is vaccinated against Measles, please call the Health Department at (308) 385-5175.
